Our Story
After earning her Master of Social Work degree, Elyssa spent several years working in a variety of healthcare settings. While these experiences helped shape her understanding of the challenges people face, she eventually realized she wanted a career that offered a deeper sense of connection and fulfillment.
Transitioning into therapy allowed her to find that purpose in working alongside clients as they navigate life's challenges. Her diverse professional background continues to inform the perspective and understanding she brings to her work today.
During this same period, Elyssa and Tom experienced a profound personal loss that prompted Tom to reconsider his own career path. After more than a decade in the technology industry, Tom felt drawn back to his original interest in psychology. Building on his undergraduate degree, he pursued a career in mental health counseling, ultimately earning his Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
These individual journeys, along with their shared experiences, helped shape the vision for Diamond Counseling Associates. Today, that vision is grounded in a shared belief that everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, understood, and supported through life's challenges. As the practice continues to grow, we remain committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care that honors each person's unique experiences and helps them move toward meaningful change.
